Rolling in the Deep

So, unlike you were thinking, this post is not about Adele... sorry. It is literally about rolling in the deep! Yesterday we went to the pool, and let me tell you, Albuquerque doesn't have many pools. Last summer my mom and I were bored to death at home, so we packed up the rug-rats and went in search of the perfect pool in Albuquerque, and after a whole summer of searching, we never found it. Sad but true, one of the driest places in America is void of a decent water park.

Borrego Creek Family Center has the best pool in the 505, and it doesn't get deeper than 2 feet. There is 1 small slide and lots of shade, that's about as much as we could ask for. We have seen the freezing pools, the "hot tub" pools, even the pools filled with baby vomit... And this pool happens to be very close to home, in fact, its practically in our backyard... literally. Welcome to our personal family pool! ha!
Dolphins and rainbows, could it get more peaceful?
Pitiful isn't it? But we did find a decent pool close to home that does get deeper than 2 feet and has a slightly larger slide. Welcome to Summer in New Mexico.

Here is where rolling in the deep comes into play... Dad thought it would be fun to go really fast down the slide with Addi, and they went a little to fast. They flew off the slide into the water, totally immersed in the chilly liquid. We thought Addi was going to mad as a hornet, but she loved it! Looks like I taught her well!
Addi moments after the incident! ;)

  1. YAY! A post! It's a miracle!!!! Wahoo! First off, I am totally glad you found some water to play in. Even if it is in your backyard! Sometimes that's the best way to go! So glad that Addi loves the water! You taught her well Bub! Looks like fun!
